take 2

by Rachel Turiel

We’ve been looking at this view all weekend.sb

And, sometimes this view.

And, also the hero bringing snow to the people…or, er, the beer cooler.

I am filled with gratitude.

But also, a little perplexedness, as my post last week didn’t go out to my lovely, faithful subscribers (AKA my mom and a few others). The post is here, if you missed it.

With love,

Rachel

p.s. can you let me know you got the e-mail notification on this post?

I got the email for this post! Not sure about last week as I was travelling and not paying too much attention to email :) Although I was just thinking that we hadn’t heard anything from you in a while…
Always love seeing you have a new post up :)

Hi Rachel – got the email notification on this post but not the last. I figured you were on some R&R since you all work so hard all the time. Love your posts and love Rose’s – 3 chances before she strikes

      Jennifer,

That is the iconic Engineer Mountain, basking in the sun.

    Movie recommendations:
To continue on the space program theme: Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks I used to show this to my 10 grade physical science students. It is good history, they touch on the Apollo 1 tragedy which no one at that age knew about.
And Tom Hanks narrated a series about the space program in general called “From the Earth to the Moon”. Each episode looks at the space program from a different perspective. I haven’t seen this one in years but checked it out of the library at the time.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is a good one. Has a brother and sister in it, some mechanical stuff for the boys and some songs for the girls and the dance scene at the carnival just makes you want to get up and move. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized the whole thing was just a made up story. Or was it?
