your kids look so much alike there. They look like twins.

    • July 9, 2010

      Kyndale,
People have been mistaking them for twins since before Rose turned two (because Col is so small for his age). It used to make me sad, but like so many other aspects of parenting (and esp. parenting a child with medical issues), you just learn to shrug it off.
And really, Col is only 1-2 inches taller than her (and weighs *less* – but yikes, I think Dan weighs less than me. Did I just admit that?) so they really do look like twins!

The look on your kids here made me chuckle – the good, it’s-been-a-long-morning-and-this-is-the-much-needed-bright-spot-to-my-otherwise-grey-day type of chuckle.

    Have a lovely weekend.

I wish I had some fantastical story behind those looks – like the for reals coyote with the dead fawn in its mouth who ran in front of my bike recently.

I think what might have actually happened was I might have said to the kids in a whispery voice: “hey – listen, what’s that?”
But it was just their Daddy, rambling through the brush after feeling his water bottle at the mountain spring.

    just adorable.
because of your stories and photos like this, i have the urge to gobble those two up in my arms when i see them are the park or gorcery. but it quickly fades when i remember that i don’t actually know them. it’s funny how this blog has done this to me, and however wholehearted and sincere it might be, i am only a blog reader who happens to live in the same town as the blogger.
keep it up and hopfully soon, i will have the courage to say hello.
