this explains a lot

a lot as in…everything.

  1. The single tulip that Rose extracted from my parents’ bouquet. Which goes to show, if you don’t ask for what you want…
  2. There is never no one stapled to my body (which I will miss tremendously someday).
  3. The placement of the toilet in the center of our house, which I still haven’t made peace with after 12 years.
  4. The continuous rotation of undies and whatnots on the drying rack.
  5. Where is Dan? Doing something productive, likely.
  6. Fresh Mancos deer roadkill backstraps trimmed and ready for the grill (amounting to three deer transported home in Dan’s company work truck. Shhh.)
  7. Stuff and love, everywhere and lots of it.

Mucho blessings,

You are the constant center of a whirling, ever-changing, ever-present gyre of love. This picture brings back a flood of warm memories. Blessings to you all!

I particularly like the couch-pile slowly drooping onto the floor, it’s like indoor erosion.

Whenever I’m in a hurry and feel annoyed when my kids hang on to me, I remind myself, “once they decide to let go someday, you will never be loved this way again.” And then the hanging on becomes a comfort, rather than a nuisance.

Seriously. Me too. “You will never be loved this way again.” Who knew this was a fleeting and life-changing byproduct of motherhood?

A sight that inspires love, heart humming, inspiration, and huge grins for sooooooooo many of us across the world. The world! Those kids, that couch, those tiles, that table – all of it is familiar to your loyal readers and gives us actual nourishment. xo

And I, who also doesn’t know about hastags would hashtag it: #everyone poops, and in our house everyone knows about it
