a kinder, gentler nation

hi

This must be one of those libertarian presidents, what with the cannabis tree in the background.

Oh hi there. That’s just the president up there, presenting the bill he just signed into law. The 9 members of the Supreme Court stand proudly, if a bit stiffly, behind him, and Congress! oh, do you see that colorful melting pot of 535 congressional homies high-fiving in the Tupperware bowl of the Capitol Building? Oh, the unity!

Was it Senator Turiel Hinds’s bill the president signed into law?

hi4

Or perhaps, Senator Nicholreimer’s?

hi5

It sure is nice to see Congress vote so cheerfully and unanimously on Senator Sagetree’s bill requesting that for every one tree cut down, three trees be planted.hi3

Senator Sagetree didn’t even seem to mind when accidentally called “Sinister Sagetree.”

I vote for the wisest, kindest, most brave-hearted people: the children.

xo,

Rachel

Oh thank goodness! Yes indeed. It’s all up to the children. This is proof there is hope for all of us. And maybe even the planet too.

Senator Nicholreimer’s suggestion – nay, her expression, speaks to me. Unfortunately, besides the public school system’s aversion to alternative styles of learning, we live in the soggy northwest, and my kids would surely complain…

Here here! Love these kids and their amazing hearts! Hopeful for our future because of them, because of YOU!

Vote for the kiddos indeed! Theo just brought the book Tin Lizzie home from school. The convos we’ve been having the last few nights at bedtime sparked by ideas from the book have been really fun and inspiring. If you don’t already know of it, I think your kiddos and home school group would really enjoy it.

Katie, that looks like a really great book! I love it when books inspire my children. We just read the verrrry long book “Wildwood” by Colin Meloy (lead singer of Decemberists) and everytime we talked about the characters I felt like I was in a very small, bizarre and sweet book club with my own children. xo

…when I’m not weirdly neurotic about worrying that I’m oversharing…

I keep thinking about these laws! I want them in place. I find myself musing over what school time “in the wild” looks like and how I can create it. What an awesome pack you’ve got.

I’d like Col and Rose and Echo to get together. They can update her on law making and she can break down the hierarchy of a wolf pack and her soft spot for the Omega.

    xo!
