~police car moths on rudbeckia at Junction creek~
About 83% of Col and Rose’s summer has been spent in the pursuit of insects. We first saw these moths way up high in the mountains, and now it seems they’re coming down to lower elevations. They’re called “police car moths.”
All they seem to do is mate, which makes them preoccupied enough to allow children to tote them all over the place.
“Shhh…they’re mating,” Rose says authoritatively, which means something cute involving babies and mommies and more beautiful moths for her to hold.
