Wow, what a great eye! My little brother could always spot wild Turkeys in the woods when we took family drives in the country.I don’t know how he could spot them from so far away!

Very cool!
certainly an incredible sight, we used to see moose and bear almost daily mostly walking right in front of us when we lived in the mountains, each sighting was more amazing than the last to see such powerful creatures right in front of you without a fence in between. i have never seen bull elk, thank you for sharing them!
*big gasp of awe*
Wow – Go Col!
Great photo. I love how there is an elk captured jumping the fence. I have come via Soulemama. Here is our moment (it’s an animal one too) http://www.embracingitall.com/?p=483

*Nice* spot, Col.
We have about two hundred elk in the field behind the house (and beyond the cottonwoods). It’s one of Wyoming’s many elk refuges–a bittersweet game management practice, but fun for us to walk over and watch elk in the evenings. Today, we saw three different pairs of bull elk sparring.
I grew up in Colorado and always loved going camping in the mountains and seeing and hearing the elk around our campsite!
Wow, they’re gorgeous. I think we might have a few squirrels that big, but they’re not nearly as majestic.
