We see a deer here in the city occasionally when we’re at a playground near a forest preserve and that’s considered exotic in these parts. The kids (and adults) are always in awe when we encounter one.
Oh they’ve got their yew bows, though Rose’s is in need of a little repair due to a Subaru-door-slam accident, and Col’s broke awhile ago and he’s now onto an Osage Orange bow.
What a wonderful moment…we have a herd of over 60 elk that come within 20 feet of our house. My kids are so overwhelmed by so many they will only stand on the front porch and look on in awe.
It would be fun to be able to see just one at a time!
wow!!! what a shot!!
happy weekend to you…

i love moments like this . . when you can feel another creature’s beauty and strength amidst the quiet, yet, busy world around you. so beautiful!
Don’t you love it when you happen to have a camera along at the right moment. Nice capture.

another fantastic moment! we have those as well with white tail deer. never ceases to amaze me… the beauty of nature.
My thoughts on seeing this photo, in order: Oh, the grass! The trees! Oh — oh wow! Took my breath away.
What lucky kids — and such a precious moment.
Amazing.
I have to ask–is Rose wearing a dance outfit? I love it!
Happy weekend! I am home with the kids and very, very, happy.
Melissa, Rose is wearing a green velvet dress adorned with lace and sequins, because y’know, it helps the kick and glide.
Oh so lovely and magical. So wild and full of beauty. Your children are blessed by such landscapes. Peace, Nicki

For this outing, did Rose want to wear the high-heels that go with her velvet ballerina dress-up?
We have a few strict rules around here, including: no high heels outside.
Rachel! As usual, you take my breath away – in words and pictures. XOXO
Looks very fall-like and stunning to witenss! Junior trackers there ;-)
