It’s a really good mushroom year in Colorado, or at least here in Southern Colorado. It helps to go picking with someone who knows their mushrooms. I just know 3 edible ones, and so that is what I stick to.
Oh I can almost hear those little’s cheery chuckles through the screen…and the look on those smiley faces. All the wild mushroom harvesting I’ve been getting glimpses of over there in CO has really gotten me thinking of the wealth of “free” food we have on this planet.
That is QUITE a collection!!! Great photo!

Awesome!!! Can we come for Mushroom Pizza, please??
Oh yes you can, and venison in mushroom gravy and cream of mushroom soup…
okay yummy!!!!!
Wow! My daughter would go through these like Pac Man – gobble gobble gobble. Awesome!
And I love seeing the mirth in your kids’ face. Mushrooms would inspire that in our house too :)
Justine, they are so mirthy – especially about mushroom they picked themselves!
These are in Colorado? I live in Colorado — I want to learn about this! Any tips on how to get started? Maybe I should poke around your blog! ;)

jealous! i oh so love mushrooms of all kinds and want to forage.
Oh this is so great. I snapped a very similar photo of our children’s mushroom collecting adventure this week too.
Are these edible?
Oh yeah. King boletes aka porcini’s and a small bag of chanterelles. All those mushrooms have been dried and frozen by now. Yum!
That looks like a blast! How beautiful, and yummy! :)

Noah says, “I want to go there and see! What is Col holding?”
Col’s holding wild raspberries and we just went up to the mountains and picked another batch and we want Noah to come here right now and see!
