When we got our barred rock chicks from Mesa Feed Store they had another breed that looked almost identical but I can’t remember what it was called. As chicks, the only difference was the diamond on one breed’s head was yellower. But it was a very subtle difference. Seems like the other breed was a bantam. Name had two words. Maybe it’ll come to me. At any rate, she definitely rocks!
LOL If you do a search on my blog for dark mirror fancy chicken you’ll find a post I made last fall when I posted pics of my boys and their chicken counterparts – the resemblance was scary!
Wowza :-) I’d like to see HER eggs.
And happy birthday to your sweet girl. That was a lovely post about that. It is true that fun house mirror stuff.
that is one of my next purchases. i am dying for some hair like that in my brood.
GREAT photos.
i think she looks like animal, the muppet. i think he was a drummer, wasn’t he?
Seriously–the cutest chicken I’ve ever seen. Keep the chicken pics coming!
Ha ha ha – I can’t stop laughing at your blog title. What a great pick-me-up on a dull Wednesday afternoon.
Seriously. That is SOME do. Wonderful chicken!
Ahhh, Penguina! She has grown up so beautifully!! What a great looking bird!! As always, I love the chicken photos.
This is Penguina. She’s got attitude. She was billed–at the feed store–as a barred rock hen. However, the poofy crest says: no.
We’re thinking Bantam. Any other guesses?
i’ll say! that is one wild dude!
Oh, how I am loving Penguina! : )
Oh you made me laugh so hard!!! I am sooo jealous of your hen!! <3
Oh, I am laughing so loud, out loud, in an empty house!! :-)
Thank you for sharing your wonderful sense of humour. I can’t wait to show this to my boys when they return from swimming!
My oldest will ask if we can get a chicken like that to add to the flock. My rooster would likely run away! ;-)
That is the coolest chicken I have ever seen :)
That is too adorable
Hehe … she’s pretty awesome looking! Can’t wait until we have our own flock!
Nice! I’m getting a very strong Tommy Lee of Motley Crue vibe…
Is that a hen? She’s totally rad!
Kyndale, I HOPE she’s a hen! We actually have no idea what she is. The guess is Banty. She is smaller than her coop-mates, so probably not a rooster.
and you think my post titles are great?! sister, good one.
Can I get the number of her stylist??
